There were no shortage of ‘favourite’ Aidha moments this year; rather with the brilliantly fast and furious year we’ve had, it’s probably hard to pick just one favourite! What was yours?
Since December gets its name from the Latin word decem – meaning ten – we’ve highlighted our top milestones of 2015: launching two new programmes, the Alumni Development Programme and Basic English classes; achieving the much-coveted IPC status; celebrating a record 166 graduate, receiving the AWARE award for Financial Empowerment; turning nine on 19th July;, a successful Tour de Singapore Bike Ride that raised $100K for 150 student scholarships; strengthening ties with our loyal donors at AustCham, Alexander Mann Solutions, Barclays, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, and making new friends at Facebook, PayPal, Credit Suisse and Nomura Bank; raising our profile in several publications, including Expat Living, Berita Harian, and Hollandse Club newsletter; and conducting free ‘Skills Sunday’ workshops every single month for our students. Check out our picture spread of our very full and busy year here.
As we end 2015 on a celebratory note, we say a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you who made this multiple-milestone year possible: to our mentors, our volunteers, our Sunday campus Trainees, our office angels, the master bakers who bring us cakes and keep our spirits (and sugar levels!) up, and most of all, our extraordinary, courageous and inspiring students. We could not have done this without you! We’re counting on you to make 2016 even more dynamic and fabulous.
On behalf of the Aidha team, here’s wishing you a Happy Christmas and a very Happy New Year! Or, as we say in Singapore, Merry Christmas lah!
